Samba de Roda - Freedom Dance
Capoeira Cultural Center
Samba de Roda, unlike formal Samba, is practiced in the setting of a circle with traditional Capoeira instruments. Because it is less formal, particular steps and form are not as important. Instead, we practice our self-expression through rhythmic movement. Traditionally, the circle of people (Roda) provides a safe space to perform, and let out stress and worries while allowing in happiness and harmony.
The Capoeira Cultural Center (CCC) is dedicated to representing Capoeira in its freeing, inspiring, welcoming, and strategic form. The instructors of CCC teach classes and perform Capoeira demonstrations in the Tri-State area to promote self-expression and open people's perspectives to their own magnificent potential.
